Community Support & Charitable Contributions
As a business partner of NZ Post, we’re chuffed to be able to lend our support to not-for-profit organisations through this service. Projects and organisations focussed on improving education, health and wellbeing or business that benefits the community are eligible for our support via Community Post. You can find out how to apply for assistance on the NZ Post website.
Diabetes New Zealand
We have over 5,000 contractors working for us and understand the importance of looking after our people. Many of our contractors and their family members are affected with diabetes, so it came naturally to work with and support the Diabetes New Zealand campaign to raise the awareness and seriousness of the disease. Not only do we want to support our contractors, but we believe in helping and giving back to the wider community to ensure that everyone can lead the healthy and happy lifestyle they deserve.
NZ Book Month
NZ Book Month is held every year in March; it's a month-long celebration of books and reading with events across New Zealand and $5-off book vouchers for all. In 2011 and 2012 we were proud to support Book Month and its goal of encouraging literacy and a love of book s at all levels of society. 2013 Book Month takes place in March next year and we look forward to being involved again.
Matariki Kite Day
On 21 June 2012 the Matariki star cluster rose into New Zealand’s skies signalling the beginning of a month of celebration and entertainment, that brought a modern take to a centuries old Māori tradition. From art exhibits, Kapa haka, contemporary dance and kite flying, Auckland came alive with a series of concerts, family events and traditional celebrations to celebrate Matariki. We were wrapt to be a part of the celebrations and look forward to lending a hand again next year.
Through our business partner New Zealand Post, we also support a community programme called ActivePost. One of the first projects ActivePost is funding is called Get Set Go, a programme designed to teach primary school kids fundamental movement skills such as catching, throwing and running. The programme was designed by Athletics NZ and with our help will be rolled out to 825 primary schools around the country in the next two years.
Laptops for Learning
Laptops for Learning is a programme driven by Variety - The Children’s Charity. Reachmedia, in association with The Warehouse are proud to support this programme because, Like Variety, we believe that all children should have access to the best possible education and this means access to good technology. The programme is aimed at providing laptops in a targeted manner to children in low decile secondary schools throughout New Zealand. Reachmedia were a key contributor at the last Suppliers’ Dinner which generated enough funds to provide about 850 laptops/notebooks/iPads to low decile secondary schools across New Zealand.
