Here at Reachmedia we know that good environmental management makes economic sense. It gives us a competitive edge and our approach to sustainability is shared by our wider group of companies in NZ and Australia.

Here are a number of things we’re doing to reduce our environmental impact:

85% of waste is recycled

Approximately 85% of our total waste is now recycled. We’re aiming to improve that by a further 5% the end of 2013 and hope to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill by 5%.

Our key product is fully recyclable

Our mailbox marketing involves a huge amount of paper – a resource that is fully recyclable and renewable due to it being based on wood.

We’re reducing paper use in our offices

All our office printers and copiers print double sided using black and white. Where we can we’re digitising paper forms. We’re also aiming to reduce our use of copy paper by 5% by the end of 2013.

We’re aiming to use less energy

We’ve installed fancy eco light bulbs and encouraging staff to adopt energy saving practices at work and at home. We’re also doing energy audits across our four NZ sites and our goal is to reduce overall energy consumption by 3% by the end of 2013.
